Live chat

Real-time channels for your whole team. Pin messages, reactions, share updates.

Live chat keeps your whole team in sync with real-time channels. It's a top-level item in the sidebar, with an unread badge so you can see when there's something new.

Open chat

In the left sidebar, click Chat. A red badge on the icon shows your number of unread messages (it caps at 20+).

Create a channel

Channels are spaces for a team, a shift, or a topic.

  1. Start a new channel.
  2. Enter a channel name (lowercase, like channel-name).
  3. Pick an icon and add members.
  4. Click Create.

If you don't have any yet, you'll see No channels yet.

Send and manage messages

  • Type in the message box to post to the channel in real time.
  • Open Message options on any message to act on it.
  • Pin important messages so they stay easy to find.
  • Use Add reaction to respond quickly, and add a GIF from the built-in KLIPY search.

A removed message shows as This message was deleted.

Channel settings and archiving

Open Channel settings to manage a channel's members and details. Channels you no longer need can be archived and found later under Archived channels.

Chat is included on every plan, starting with Starter.
